Botanical Cyanotype Workshop
Join Laura of Parsloe Farm Flowers and step away from the stresses of life as you immerse yourself in shades of blue, while arranging pressed flowers in various compositions, to make your very own ‘blueprints’.
During this two hour workshop, you will be taken through the process of making a cyanotype print step-by-step with demonstration and examples. You will then be provided with multiple pieces of pre-coated cyanotype paper to experiment with and a selection of pressed flowers and grasses to make your unique blue and white designs.
Botanical printmaking workshops at Tree Thyme are designed to provide the participant with a quiet morning or afternoon of creativity and gentle tuition and hopefully the desire to continue to experiment and learn more in the future. Laura’s technique involves layering pressed flowers and leaves to create beautiful, textured cyanotype prints.
Refreshments including tea and homemade cake are included in the ticket price and there will be time to pause and have a wander in the garden.
Laura has a BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design and a degree in Printed Textiles. Having worked for over a decade as a Womenswear Print Designer in London and as Head of Print Design (Retail) for The National Trust within the not-for-profit sector, she turned to her love of nature and the great outdoors following the arrival of her two sons and began growing cut flowers from her home farm in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. Laura now combines her skills by growing, drying, pressing, crafting and styling with the flowers she grows. She also teaches botanical printmaking and floral workshops with flowers grown in the grounds of the Tree Thyme Garden.

Singing Mamas
Join Kathryn of Singing Mamas North Wiltshire to connect with your inner voice. Sing fun and simple songs from around the world in a warm and welcoming group. Together we create community, with perinatal women at its centre, offering them nurture and connection with themselves, their baby and the group of women who come to sing. No musical experience is necessary and the songs are taught by ear.
Singing Mamas is not a choir, but it is group singing in beautiful, simple harmony. It is not a baby group but babies and children are welcome. It is about singing for wellbeing, no matter if you sing like an angel or croak like a frog! Singing Mamas is for all women, but at its heart are pregnant and postnatal women (please note that sessions are free from 36 weeks of pregnancy until delivery because the endorphins released by group singing can be so beneficial at the end of pregnancy and birth).
Having gathered in the poly-tunnel since January, Singing Mamas at Tree Thyme Garden will be moving into the garden itself now that we have arrived at warmer, drier mornings. The group sings for an hour and then shares tea and homemade cake together.
Trial sessions are available, as well as block bookings and pay as you go spaces. To book, please visit Kathryn’s Happity page or send her an email to singingmamas.nwilts@gmail.com. You can find out more about Singing Mamas at www.singingmamas.org.
